Being Kind To Everyone Is A Gift To Yourself

I had a dream the other night where I was speaking to a Spiritual Master and I was asking him how to Love myself more and his reply was to “Love Others.”

And I then asked, “How is that loving myself?”

He then said, “Because your body extends out further than you realize. It includes everybody else. When you are loving others, you are loving your own body because others are a part of your body.”

When I awoke, I had this image of everyone and everything being a part of my “extended body” and that how I treated others is no different than how I treat my own arms or legs. This put me deeply into a sense of oneness with all of life.

When I love myself, I love others. When I love others, I love myself, because, in truth…there is no “other”.

So, when you get “triggered” by others, as we discuss in the Overcoming Negativity Addiction Program, it’s important to remember that you have a choice in that moment to love yourself more.

If that person isn’t loving to you, it’s only because they are caught in their negativity addiction and can’t see the truth. That you are them. Therefore, it means they’re not treating themselves very kindly by mistreating you.

Hopefully, this will inspire in you a wonderful vibeswitch of having compassion for them for treating you (a part of them) so unkindly. It’s like watching someone who has lung cancer chain smoke. They are addicted to something that hurts them. When anyone is unkind to you at any time, it is only because they too are addicted to negativity which hurts them.

Send them your love.

When you do, your self esteem will increase dramatically, because you have just given yourself the greatest kindness in the form of loving yourself in another.

Present Moment Awareness

Today I intend to use my main vibe switch as present moment awareness.

patanjaliWhenever I get lost in any kind of thought and leave the present moment, I am going to become aware of my body sensations, sounds around me, my breath, my thoughts, and emotions, all from the observer perspective.

I am going to aim to spend at least 75% of my day today in my body, in my awareness of the present moment.

Right now, I hear the sounds of the computer keyboard clicking as I type “click, click, click”, and I hear the “hummm” of my computer and I hear my chihuahua snoring in the other room. Oh, and some birds just chirped outside. “Chirp” “Chirp”. I feel a little sleepy because I woke up really early, but I feel fresh and clean because I just took a shower. My hair is still a little wet and I can feel it on my neck…Ahhhh. (For those few seconds I was not lost in thought!)

There is a great Zen saying that instead of asking yourself “Why?” (Which gets you out of your body, into your head, lost in thought once again) it’s helpful to ask “What?” meaning, literally, what is going on around and inside of you?

Present moment vibe switch check in!!! All day today.

ONA Journal – Keeping My Mind Simple and My Heart Open

Today, I am coming out of a two day script rewriting marathon. I feel a little fuzzy because my mind has been focused only on the world of my screenplay and movie. It’s so much fun creating another universe, but it can take me out of the present moment which is what I’m craving now. To ground myself in this here and now moment.

pinkbirdSo today I am going to exercise, and meditate, and get off my computer and vibe switch back into “this” reality.

Also, I am noticing something very interesting and helpful. My Negativity Addiction likes to make everything complicated, complex, muddled, muddy, thinking thinking thinking. But when I am vibe switching and overcoming the addiction, everything gets more simple. I just become loving, more body centered, more present, more gentle, softer, and my mind gets very simple and just loving and compassionate.

So today I plan to be very simple with my thinking. The heart is always loving. It’s the mind and the Negativity Addiction that gets in the way. So by making our mind more loving, the natural state of our Hearts is able to come out.

Whenever I try to complicate things today, I am going to vibe switch simply into Holding the Love Note.

I’m also really glad we stopped doing the weekly ONA class, because it looks like I’m taking a bigger role in making this movie. I am also SO glad we created the 8 week Overcoming Negativity Program for those who can’t do the class.

I am so glad I am noticing when I need to take things off of my plate in order to hold the Self Compassion note. But I have to practice my ONA every single minute of every single day and so keeping my journal keeps me accountable.

Doing the ONA radio show with Macha keeps me accountable. For me, ONA is very much about staying accountable and noticing what my mind is doing.
